Deepfried was synthesized in 2000 in the mysterious depths of Peter Elsea’s Electronic Music Studios at UCSC. Deepfried’s birth was marked by the creation of the cuisNart, a custom-built live audio production suite.A Deepfned performance is an assemblage of live instrumentation, pouring sounds intoan Apple G5 running the cuisNart. The incoming sounds are then looped, mixed, sampled and synchronized into a blend of organic, rhythm, fluid and otherworldly soundscapes. A four-person symphony.
