Microsoft won the browser wars of the late 1990s, but the Mozilla foundation, a non-profit open-source software group, is attacking back with it’s highly successful Firefox browser. Nigel McFarlane, author of Firefox Hacks published by O’Reilly, joins the Geeks for a detailed discussion of the free Firefox web browser.

Nigel McFarlane is the author of Rapid Application Development with Mozilla (Prentice Hall, 2003) and Instant JavaScript (Wrox, 1997). As a freelance technology writer and an active member of the Mozilla community, he has also written over 50 articles and tips on Mozilla and related technologies and has written or contributed to a number of books.

Update June 27th 2005: Nigel McFarlane has passed away. I enjoyed doing this show with him and was looking forward to his next book and inviting him on air again.
